One Acre West

Our roots run from the Colorado foothills to the Texas prairies, with a few thousand miles and more than a few turns in between. The songs carry some of that country with them: the pull of home, the urge to leave, the things you lose along the way, and the things worth holding onto. These songs are for anyone who has left something behind, found something they weren’t looking for, watched the years move a little faster than expected, and come to know the bittersweet passage of time.

One Acre West grew out of two people who kept music close even when life had other plans. We met in Colorado, built a family, moved around (Colorado, Texas, California, Massachusetts, West Virginia and Pennsylvania) but never quite lost our pull toward the West. Years later, the songs and stories started piling up - and eventually we followed them to Texas, where we made this record with producer Bradley Kopp and a remarkable group of Austin musicians.

We’re not particularly interested in pretending we have everything figured out. We’re just glad there are still new songs to write, new places to play, and more road ahead of us
